The Swedenborg Foundation is proud to announce THE NEW CENTURY EDITION OF THE WORKS OF EMANUEL SWEDENBORG, a completely new, annotated, scholarly translation. 
THE NEW CENTURY EDITION (NCE) OF THE WORKS OF EMANUEL SWEDENBORG, a modern-language, scholarly translation of the theological works of one of the world's most extraordinary visionaries is a distinguished edition that meets the highest scholarly standards.The Swedenborg Foundation has undertaken this project of international scope to supply fresh, contemporary, and accessible translations of Swedenborg's works for all readers, familiar and new to them. Internationally known scholars will preface each individual work, placing it in its eighteenth-century context to facilitate the edition's usefulness to scholars and students. The translator, too, will contribute commentary to situate the work contextually. Annotations, providing identification and clarification, will also supply bibliographical leads for students and scholars. The easy-to-read, annotated NCE will bring Swedenborg's thought to life for all readers and researchers, even those with no background in Swedenborg or the eighteenth century. The volumes will contain an index to Preface, Introduction, and Notes, an Index to scriptural Passages, a Table of Parallel Passages and an Index to the Work. The New Century Edition, composed of 18 titles in 25 volumes of translation and a twenty-sixth, introductory volume, is scheduled for publication between 2000 and 2015. In deluxe hardcover binding, its large interior pages will be embellished with Swedenborg's original ornaments and set in two-color Garamond typeface. THE NEW CENTURY EDITION The NCE removes the barriers to understanding imposed by the ponderous, Latinate translations of the past. The NCE's easy-to-read translations, retaining the dignity, variety, clarity, and gender-inclusive language of Swedenborg's original Latin, bring Swedenborg's thought to life, making it accessible to people at various levels of study and interest. Twenty-five, deluxe hardcover volumes of translation and an introductory volume of essays will be published between 2000-2015. This translation project is the first to be undertaken by a single publisher and team of translators employing unified standards of translation and scholarship. Contextualizing prefaces and annotations by eminent, international scholars enable readers to trace Swedenborg's influence as never before. SUBSCRIPTION TO THE HARD COVER NEW CENTURY EDITION For a limited time NCE subscribers will be able to purchase the volumes at a 50% discount from the list price of $49.00/volume and will pay only $24.50/volume. Foundation members who subscribe will receive an additional discount, which will reduce their price per volume to $24.50 or one-half the retail price of $49.00.
