There are always two forces that keep everything con-
nected and hold it together, one acting on the outside,
and one on the inside. Between them is the object being
maintained. There absolutely have to be two forces for
anything to emerge and survive. There are earthly forces
working on the outside that are not intrinsically alive and
forces working on the inside, intrinsically alive, that hold
everything together and enable it to live, in accordance
with the form given to it for its function.
