As soon as goodness takes control in us, our earthly,
outer self surrenders and we become a spiritual church.
The validity of this statement can be recognized from
the fact that inclination then leads us to do what truth
teaches us to do; we do not violate that inclination, no
matter how intensely our earthly plane wants us to. Genuine
desire and consequent rationality rule us, subduing
the pleasures of self-love and materialism present on our
earthly plane, as well as the illusions that have permeated
the facts stored there. The conquest is eventually so complete
that we count it as one of our greater satisfactions,
at which point our earthly dimension quiets down and
then comes into harmony. When it comes into harmony,
it shares the inner dimension’s sense of satisfaction.
