The role of the intellect grows and increases from childhood
to adulthood and consists in the development of
insights on the basis of experience and learning. It also
consists in tracing causes from effects, and consequences
from a chain of causes. It is the influence of light from
heaven that brings about activity in the intellect, so we
can each develop real intellectual ability. The ability we
receive individually depends on the way we apply it, the
way we live, and our native character.
