We can train our mind or thoughts on the symbolism if
only we believe that the divinity of scriptural narrative is
due not just to the story but to something spiritual and
divine in the story. If we believed this, we would see that
the spiritual, divine component has to do with goodness
and truth in the church and in the Lord’s kingdom, and
on the highest plane, with the Lord himself.
