People do not know what the spiritual and earthly planes
are, let alone how they differ, what correspondence is, or
what inflow is. They do not know that when the spiritual
level acts on the organic forms of the body, it enables
them to function in a living way, to all appearances; or
that without this inflow and correspondence, not even
the smallest particle of the body could live or move.
Personal experience has taught me the situation in all
this—not only that heaven exerts a general influence, but
also that the individual communities exert a specific one.
I have also learned which communities act on this physical
organ or that, on this part or that, and what those
communities are like. Each organ or part has not one
community but many acting on it, and each community
has many members. The more there are, the stronger and
more perfect the correspondence, because strength and
perfection result from a large, like-minded multitude of
people joining forces in a heavenly form. So the impetus
flowing into each part becomes stronger and more perfect
the more people there are.
