The last part of a state means when a previous state ends
and a new one begins. A new state begins in a person
being reborn when things turn upside-down, which
happens when inner attributes take control of outer attributes,
and outer attributes start to serve inner ones, in
the area both of the intellect and of the will. Regenerating
people can tell this is happening when something inside
them persuades them not to let sensual pleasures and
bodily or earthly gratifications reign supreme, dragging
intellectual matters onto their side to justify them. At this
stage, the previous state is at its end, and a new state is in
its beginnings.
