The primary time for trials to occur is when we are becoming
spiritual, because we then understand doctrinal
truth in spiritual terms. Often we are unaware that we
do, but the angels with us see something spiritual in our
earthly preoccupations, because our inner levels then lie
open to heaven. That is why we end up among angels after
life in the world, if we have been reborn, and there
we see and perceive a spiritual dimension that previously
seemed earthly to us. If we are this kind of person, angels
can defend us when evil spirits attack us during our crises,
because they then have a platform on which they can
operate. They act on what is spiritual in us, and through
what is spiritual on what is earthly.
