The act comes first; our will to do it comes afterward.
What we do at the urging of our intellect we eventually
do with our will and finally take on as a habit. At that
point it is infused into our inner, rational self. Once it has
been infused we no longer do what is good from truth
but from goodness, because we start to feel a certain bliss
and to sense something of heaven in it. This feeling remains
with us after death, and through it the Lord lifts us
into heaven.
