Bryn Athyn College Sponsors Scholarship Opportunity for The offTheLeftEye Experience 2020

Starting January 15, 2020, the Swedenborg Foundation will begin accepting applications and essays for The offTheLeftEye Experience 2020 Scholarship sponsored by Bryn Athyn College. The scholarship will make it possible for one of our loyal supporters with limited resources to attend the conference by receiving lodging, meals, and a weekend pass to the Experience free of charge. All other expenses, including travel to and from the event, are the responsibility of the winner. Two runners-up will receive a free item of their choice from the Swedenborg Foundation store on Redbubble.com.

The OTLE Experience 2020 will be an immersive multi-day exploration of the spiritual content we cover on our YouTube channel with the hosts and online community viewers have grown to love, taking place June 5 โ€“ 8, 2020 on the campus of Bryn Athyn College. Attendees can expect a transformative weekend with group bonding exercises and workshops, expertly guided meditations, and master class presentations from Curtis Childs, Dr. Jonathan Rose, Chelsea Rose Odhner, and other offTheLeftEye team members, as well as professors from the Institute for Swedenborgian Studies at Bryn Athyn College. To Enter

Fill out the online application form available at Swedenborg.com. If you have questions about the scholarship or difficulties using the form, please call Gwen Williams at 610-430-3222 ext. 109. There is no fee to enter.

If an entrant has already registered for the event: If someone who has already registered for the event enters the contest and wins, we will refund their registration fee. We will also extend the early-bird registration discount to anyone who enters the contest so that they wonโ€™t be penalized for waiting to register until after the winner is announced.

Essay Criteria

Submission Deadline: February 14, 2020

Write and submit a 500-700 word essay describing a favorite video from the offTheLeftEye channel or an idea from the videos that has had an impact on your life. What about it was especially meaningful to you? How did it speak to your life experiences or what was happening with you at that moment?

Essays can be uploaded in Word or PDF format or entered as text in the form on the website. All essays should have a title that is included in the text file; however, text files should not include the name of the entrant or any other identifying information, including contact information.

Winner Selection

Essays will be judged by a panel that includes professors from Bryn Athyn College and staff of the Swedenborg Foundation. Winners will be chosen based on the quality and passion of the ideas expressed.

Winners will be notified by e-mail or phone within one month after the deadline for entry. In the event that we are unable to reach the winner after multiple contact attempts, the prize will pass to one of the runners-up.

The Fine Print

Eligibility:  The OTLE Experience Scholarship is open to entrants eighteen years of age or older from any country or territory worldwide, except where prohibited by local laws.

All essays submitted remain the property of the author. However, by submitting an essay to this contest, you agree that if you are chosen as the winner or a runner-up, either the Swedenborg Foundation or Bryn Athyn College may reproduce the essay, in whole or in part, in any print or electronic medium affiliated with the organization. You also give us permission to use your name and/or likeness in materials related to the event.

The essay should be the original creation of the participant, with no restrictions, contractual or otherwise, that would prevent us from reproducing the text elsewhere. By submitting an essay for this contest, you acknowledge, agree, and warrant that nothing in the essay infringes any copyrights, confidential information, trade secrets, or trademarks belonging to any person or entity other than the participant, or violates any personโ€™s privacy rights.
