The Off The Left Eye Experience 2021 FAQ

Accessing the Event Online

How do I register for the event?

You can register for the event through our page on Eventbrite

When you arrive on that page:

  • Click the green “Register” button on the right-hand side
  • Choose either a full weekend pass, day pass, or recording access pass and click the orange “Checkout” button
  • On the next page, enter your name, contact information, and payment option in the required fields.  You will also be asked to confirm that you have read the code of conduct and that you agree to be recorded.
  • Click the “Place Order” button. You should receive a receipt and registration confirmation via e-mail.

What is the difference between the different registration options?

A full weekend pass will get you access to all sessions from Friday through Sunday. If you can only come for one day, you have the option of signing up for a day pass (you can choose either Saturday or Sunday at checkout). All options include access to the Friday welcome sessions.

If you are unable to make any sessions but would like to watch the recordings afterward, you can sign up for a Recording Access pass, which will give you access to all recorded sessions. Please note that interactive sessions may not be recorded; the event agenda page will show you which sessions or portions of sessions will be available later.

How do I log on to event sessions?

The event will be hosted through a platform called Qiqochat. We will send all participants a link to a video on how to use the platform before the event starts; we encourage you to watch the video and to sign on to the sessions early if you’d like to practice using the controls.

Qiqochat works in conjunction with Zoom, a video conferencing app.  If you’ve never used Zoom before, you might want to download the Zoom application in advance to be sure that it installs properly on your computer.

We will send links to all sessions in advance of the meeting. Please be sure to save the e-mails with the links so that you can join easily on the day of the event!

What are the tech requirements? Can I attend sessions on my phone?

Zoom and Qiqochat will run on most desktops, tablets, and mobile phones. However, please note that functionality is limited on phones and tablets; you will have the best experience if you can use a desktop or laptop computer.

Do I have to participate using Zoom, or will another application work?

The Foundation is hosting the event using our Zoom account, and in order to join the meeting, you will have to have the app installed on the device that you’re using so that we can all be in the same digital space. However, you do not need to have an account of your own with Zoom in order to participate.

How will I know what is happening when?

All registrants will be sent an agenda for the event via e-mail, and you can also access it any time on the Off the Left Eye site. Once you’ve entered the sessions, you can return to the lobby at any time to access the schedule and other important documents.

What if I have technical issues on the day of the the event?

Please check back; we will post a designated contact for technical issues closer to the day of the event.
