If you’re in the Los Angeles area and want to meet other fans of Emanuel Swedenborg and our offTheLeftEye YouTube channel, come on out for an afternoon of food and fellowship!
Where: Wayfarers Chapel, 5755 Palos Verdes Drive South, Rancho Palos Verdes, California 90275
When: Sunday, July 14, 2019, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
What: Curtis Childs, director of offTheLeftEye and host of our hit webcast Swedenborg & Life and our new series News from Heaven, will draw from the beautiful surroundings for his talk:
“What Would a City of Angels Actually Be Like?”
Swedenborg gives us unprecedented access not only to how angels appear and behave but also to how they think and to what their motives are. So what would it be like to actually be living in and surrounded by a community of angelic-minded people? And can we take those lessons and start to build the real thing here on earth? We’ll ponder these questions and take a look at what we can do to build our own personalized angelic city of the mind.
Following the talk, Curtis will sit down with two of the ministers from Wayfarers Chapel, Rev. David Brown and Rev. Dan Burchett, for some follow-up thoughts on living in the City of Angels. The presentation will be capped off with a Q&A session where audience members can ask questions about the show, about Swedenborg’s writings, or anything else they’re curious about.
Afterward we’ll have a reception with light fare, beverages, and a few special surprises!
Share Your Story: During the reception, members of the offTheLeftEye crew will have their cameras on and rolling, looking for stories from from local attendees about their experience with the offTheLeftEye channel, the impact Swedenborg’s ideas have had on their lives, and their own spiritual journeys. If you’re interested in sharing, sign up at the reception table when you come in.
Who: All are welcome! Feel free to bring any friends or family who might be interested.
Cost: This is a free event! However, because space is limited, we ask that you please RSVP using this form or by contacting Gwen Williams at gwilliams@swedenborg.com or 610-430-3222 ext. 109.
Past events have been an energizing opportunity for fans of offTheLeftEye and others with interest in Swedenborg to meet, get to know each other, and in some cases form lasting connections. We hope you’ll come and join us, and hopefully meet some new friends!
