Enter Swedenborg Fan Art Contest for Chance to be Featured and Inspire Others

Summon your artistic spirits! We’re looking for talented individuals to take part in a fun art contest. If you’re moved by Swedenborg’s spiritual insights, channel that inspiration into artwork and we’ll share it with the world. Submit your original Swedenborg-inspired artwork in digital format or by mail for a chance to have it become a featured design that’s shared with the public and made available in our RedBubble merchandise shop, so you and others can create fun and practical products that show off your love and appreciation for Swedenborg.

Drawings, paintings, illustrations, photographs, and more can be submitted for consideration by our in-house panel of judges, and the winning piece will be chosen from a group of finalists in an open online vote. The artist and their winning artwork will be featured on our website, social media channels, and in our Redbubble store. The Swedenborg Foundation will also award the creator with a product of their choice from our Redbubble shop.

The deadline for entries is November 17, after which the finalists will be notified by e-mail and the entries posted on Swedenborg.com for voting. Read below for full contest rules and eligibility requirements.

Submission Guidelines

Please use the following online form to upload a digital version of your original artwork in jpg or png formats. Videos and animations will not be accepted. Images should be saved in high resolution (300 dpi) and files should be no larger than 5 MB.

Alternatively, you may submit a physical copy of your work to our office: Swedenborg Foundation, 320 North Church Street, West Chester, PA 19380, attn.: Fan Art Contest. Please do not submit your only copy of the piece, as we cannot guarantee that the work will be returned. If submitting a physical copy, please include the information requested in the form above, including the inspiration behind your artwork, its title, and the medium used.

Contest Rules

The Swedenborg Fan Art Contest is open to entrants eighteen years of age or older from any country or territory worldwide, except where prohibited by local laws. There is no fee to enter, and individuals may submit as many pieces as they choose.

The contest opens October 16, 2017, and the deadline for entries is November 17, 2017. A group of finalists (the number depending upon the number of entries submitted) will be chosen from among the entries by a panel of in-house judges based on artistry, creativity, and effectiveness in conveying Swedenborgian concepts. The winner will then be chosen via an open online vote; in the event of a tie, our in-house judges will determine the winner (or winners if the judges declare a tie). The winner will be notified by e-mail within one week of the close of voting.

The winner (or winners in the case of a tie) will receive a free item of their choice from our Redbubble store along with promotional considerations (promotion of their name, website, or other affiliation along with the art in the venues in which it appears).

Entrantsโ€™ personal information, including contact information and any name other than the name under which they chose to be identified for the purpose of this contest, will not be shared with any third party and will not be used for any purpose other than contest-related communication without the written permission of the entrant.

By entering this contest, you are giving the Swedenborg Foundation the right to post your entry, including your name or artistsโ€™ pseudonym and the artwork submitted, on our website and other Swedenborg Foundation-controlled digital and social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter. If you are chosen as the winner, you are granting us the non-exclusive use of your fan art on Swedenborg Foundation merchandise and any promotional or informational materials related to the contest, in any print or electronic medium. Proceeds from merchandise sales of the featured art will be used to support Swedenborg Foundation programs.

Each entry should be an original creation of the participant, which is under no restriction, contractual or otherwise, that will prevent our use of the image. Modifying, enhancing or altering a third partyโ€™s pre-existing work does not qualify as a participantโ€™s original creation. The participant acknowledges, agrees, and warrants that nothing in the entry infringes any copyrights, confidential information, trade secrets, or trademarks belonging to any person or entity other than the participant, or violates any personโ€™s rights of privacy.
