We had a crowd of more than fifty wonderful people come out for An Afternoon with OffTheLeftEye at the Wayfarers Chapel, just outside Los Angeles, on July 14, 2019.
The afternoon kicked off with Curtis Childs, director of the offTheLeftEye YouTube channel and host of our hit webcast Swedenborg & Life, taking the audience on a journey to imagine how different life would be living in a city of angels. After the talk, he was joined by Rev. David Brown and Rev. Dan Burchett, two of the pastors at the Wayfarers Chapel, to learn more about this historic location and the spiritual and emotional paths that brought them to work there.
After the talk, guests enjoyed refreshments and a chance to meet new friends in a reception overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Attendees ranged from lifelong Swedenborgians to new fans of offTheLeftEye, all brought together by a life-changing introduction to Swedenborg’s teachings.
After successful events in San Francisco and New York City, these regional gatherings evolved into a new initiative on the part of the Foundation to connect with our fans and supporters and give them an opportunity to meet others in their local area. If you weren’t able to attend any of our first three events, there is another one coming up: Join us at SwedenJam Live! on October 27, 2019 in Philadelphia, PA where we’ll be featuring music from local Swedenborgian artists, including Edwin Herder and friends; Reade McCardell, who composed music for many of the videos on our offTheLeftEye channel; and our own Swedenborg & Life co-host Jonathan Rose!
And that’s not all for this fall! Check out: Curtis Childs Presents at the 2019 International Association for Near-Death Studies Conference. Join Curtis and many other inspirational NDE experts at the conference in King of Prussia, PA! Curtis is scheduled to give a presentation titled “How a Spiritual Experience Changes the World: From Private Revelation to Universal Revolution” on Sunday, September 1st at 11:15 a.m. You can register for full three-day passes, one-day passes, and morning-only one-day passes on the IANDS website.
